The
Fair Competition Act (FCA)
was established to provide consumers with better products and services
and give them a wider range of choices at the best possible prices.
This is done through the promotion of competition. While the Act
focuses primarily on anti-competitive practices of business it does
have provisions for consumer protection. For more consumer information
please refer to the article "The
Prohibitions Under the FCA-Consumer Protection" as
well as "Frequently asked Questions".

The
Fair Competition Act does not address all consumer
matters. Quite frequently, we receive complaints that do not
fall under our jurisdiction, but rather under that of our
sister agency, the Consumer
Affairs Commission (CAC). For example, the FTC receives
numerous queries regarding "unreasonable pricing".
Such complaints are re-directed to the CAC.
